Post summary
Audio Visual equipment plays a key part in the Learning Spaces where our teaching takes place.
It facilitates learning and enhances the student's experience.
Well-designed systems are easy to use and provide a positive experience for all participants.
High quality AV systems are also essential to support revenue generation for the university through room hire for Conferences and Events.
The university requires an AV Designer and Project lead to design, plan and specify the AV equipment required for the university's Learning and Meeting Spaces.
The post holder will be responsible for leading the provision of the university's AV systems, from design through implementation phase and handover to operational support.
This will include evaluation of requirements, estimating costs, and producing final design within budget.
It also includes a quality control role; ensuring that AV solutions are installed by third parties in accordance with agreed designs.
The post holder will work across areas including existing centrally managed teaching spaces and spaces in new buildings and refurbishment projects working with the Estates and Facilities team.
In addition, the post holder will provide a consultancy service to users throughout the university who are planning to procure Audio Visual systems in their own locally managed spaces.
The post holder will maintain the university's reputation for having well-designed and high-quality AV installations.

Salary:
This appointment will be made on the Technical Specialist Salary Scale Points 1-4 (€71,596 - €80,868 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
