Our client, a global healthcare leader is currently recruiting for an EHS Specialist to join their team in Sligo.
Responsibilities:
As an EHS Specialist, you will:
* Provide direction and support to the plant in meeting the requirements of the global EHS standards, applicable ISO standards, and other external regulations.
* Support and continuously evaluate systems within the plant to ensure compliance with Local, National & EU legislation and the client’s Corporate and Division Procedures, Standards, and Policies for safety and the environment.
* Support, maintain & where necessary develop an effective EHS management system.
* Review and update EHSMS documents, including EHS Procedures, Register of Legislation, Safety Statement, and Risk Assessments.
* Conduct training/awareness sessions related to the EHS System and risk assessments.
* Conduct an EHS Assessment of all new chemicals and processes and ensure all items arising are effectively addressed.
* Take a leading role in working with internal EHS committee meetings and ensure that areas for improvement or any EHS concerns are highlighted and acted on.
* Oversee internal EHS audits and ensure all issues are effectively closed out.
* Pro-actively encourage improvements to any aspects of EHS throughout the plant.
* Support and continuously monitor the Site Emergency Response Plan to ensure it meets the requirements of changing processes.
Requirements:
* A third level degree in Occupational, Safety & Health or in a related discipline.
* 3 - 5 years experience in a similar role.
