Production Manager Steel Manufacturing
A leading steel manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily production operations. This permanent position involves leading the production team, ensuring efficient workflows, and upholding high standards of quality and safety.
This role is key to ensuring high-quality, efficient, and safe production that supports business growth and success.
Responsibilities
* Direct all aspects of the production lifecycle from steel fabrication to final assembly and finishing.
* Monitor and manage daily output to meet scheduled targets and customer deadlines.
* Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards and internal specifications.
Team Leadership
* Lead a team of fabricators and general operatives to deliver operational excellence.
* Set performance goals, provide mentoring, and support skills development.
* Foster a positive, solutions-focused culture on the production floor.
Planning & Coordination
* Collaborate with the design office to ensure production aligns with technical specifications.
* Work with procurement to secure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
* Coordinate with logistics to ensure on-time dispatch and delivery of finished products.
Continuous Improvement
* Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
* Maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Drive lean manufacturing principles where applicable.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure all operations meet Health & Safety Authority (HSA) standards.
* Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
* Conduct risk assessments and maintain safety documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within steel fabrication or construction manufacturing.
* Proven ability to lead production teams in a high-paced environment.
* Strong working knowledge of steel fabrication techniques.
* Background in manufacturing systems and process optimisation.
* Third-level qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (desirable).
