Job Description:
This role is a critical part of our Project Team and will be responsible for providing specialist advice and support on all matters relating to the Environment, Health, Safety and Welfare across the business.
Main Responsibilities:
* Oversee the health, safety, and environmental management system, ensuring full compliance with legislation, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
* Work effectively with the Construction Team to implement the Integrated Management System.
* Ensure the site is adequately set up with a Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan.
* Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all company High Risk Activities (HRAs) and ensure they are identified and effectively controlled on site.
* Assist with the development and coordination of the Risk Assessment & Method Statement process.
* Assist with the development of SOPs and provide training and communication to all site personnel, including our sub-contractor team, on SOPs.
* Evaluate subcontractors and allocate them to projects in accordance with company protocol.
* Report and investigate incidents when they occur as per the company's Incident Management Procedures and Incident Notification Protocol.
* Communicate Safety Alerts through Toolbox Talks on a scheduled/weekly basis.
* Ensure statutory inspections are complete and recorded into the company's Safety folder on SharePoint.
* Provide EHS project and documentation support.
Requirements:
* A relevant Health and Safety Diploma/Degree.
* A minimum of two years experience in Environmental Health and Safety roles.
* Experience in construction would be an advantage.
* Excellent team player with flexibility and adaptability.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
