Project Manager (Construction Sector)
A leading client is seeking a skilled Project Manager for the snagging stage of two commercial build projects in Clonmel and Thomastown.
This 6-month contract role involves meticulous observation, day-to-day supervision, and detailed weekly reporting on all relevant aspects of the projects.
The ideal candidate will have:
* a degree in Engineering or hold a first-class technological certificate
* 5 years' experience in construction and maintenance of large complex buildings
* a valid Safe Pass Certificate
* full driving license
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Providing daily site visits to monitor progress and address any issues promptly.
2. Implementing the Permit-to-Work procedure and coordinating with staff for shutdowns, connections, and commissioning of services and building works.
3. Assisting in the accurate interpretation and implementation of documents, drawings, specifications, and other contract documents.
4. Inspecting workmanship, service installations, and materials, recording unacceptable work, and informing the Buildings & Maintenance Manager accordingly.
5. Supervising and liaising with trade staff, General Operatives, and associated trades involved in maintenance, repair, and alteration of services, including external contractors.
6. Controlling external/internal contractors, especially in relation to extensions, alterations of existing buildings, and services, as well as new build projects.
7. Identifying and maintaining an up-to-date schedule of remedial items for all projects.
8. Assisting in obtaining test and commissioning reports from contractors to verify correct system operation.
9. Keeping comprehensive records of weather conditions and other relevant information.
10. Maintaining records for day work rates, including staff numbers, times, and dates.
11. Documenting day-to-day happenings on-site, focusing on variations, variation orders, site instructions, queries, and progress through a photograph diary.
12. Reviewing, commenting, and updating project safety files, constructed drawings, and Operating and Maintenance Manuals for accuracy.
13. Keeping Safety Statements up to date with risk assessments.
