Key Responsibilities & Outcomes
Working within the Commercial Retail team, this individual will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and ongoing maintenance of EPOS database systems. Reporting to the Database Manager, the ideal candidate will be a proactive team player with strong Excel skills, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to grow and develop within the role.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
* Supporting the database team in the ongoing maintenance of EPOS systems
* Updating and managing product standards across categories, pricing, and branding
* Collaborating with wholesale purchasing teams and third-party suppliers to ensure accurate product data
* Liaising with external service providers (e.g., McLernons, Azpiral) to deliver optimal support to the business
* Adhering to and continuously improving database processes
* Ensuring timely import and setup of approved products
* Configuring promotions and loyalty offers in line with promotional calendars
* Responding to store EPOS queries promptly and professionally
* Assisting with any additional database-related projects or requests as needed
Key Skills & Experience
* Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate, analyse, and present large datasets effectively
* Strong general IT knowledge, particularly in working with data-driven systems (non-networking)
* Proven experience managing and maintaining large databases and handling high volumes of product or transactional data
* Demonstrated ability to compile clear, insightful management reports from available data sources
* Familiarity with EPOS systems is essential — this role is focused on EPOS operations and does not involve IT networking, Python, or SQL development
* Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to data accuracy and integrity
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with commercial, purchasing, and supplier teams

* Strong numerical and analytical abilities, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word
* Hands-on experience with McLernons and/or EPOS systems is essential
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
