Overview
You will lead the Irish market within Nomad Foods as a Senior Category Development Manager, championing customer and shopper needs for Frozen category products. This role sits within the Irish Commercial team, with support from the wider UK Category team.
Responsibilities
Strategy
* Work with the Category Channel Controller & Vision Lead to translate the Category Vision into relevant drivers for growth across Ireland.
* Develop 1-3 year rolling category plans that drive long-term growth.
In-year delivery
* Execute key retailer category plans and contact strategies.
* Maximise range, space, location, availability, and macro space by incorporating all category growth levers in account.
* Evaluate impact and ensure learnings feed into future planning and activation.
* Own category relationships for Nomad Foods categories in key retailers, including category insights, performance updates, growth initiatives, assortment risks and opportunities, NPD delivery, and promotional optimisation.
Activity development, shaping, and tailoring
* Share Ireland's category plans with key retailers to enable best practice sharing as part of the UK & Ireland Category team.
* Work closely with outside agencies and insight departments to increase shopper understanding and apply it in category plan development and in-store activity execution.
* Lead the development of category-building initiatives from other in-store environments into key retailers, such as flow, adjacencies, Point of Purchase development, and mission-based merchandising.
Raising commercial & marketing teams' capability
Raise the capability of the commercial & marketing teams in understanding the shopper agenda and category development plans across key retailers.
Qualifications
We seek an experienced Category Manager familiar with working across key customers in the Irish FMCG environment. Key to success is influencing multiple stakeholders while collaborating with retailers and internal teams (Marketing, Sales, RGM, & the wider Category Development team).
* Understanding of Category Management principles and practical experience in the category management process.
* Strategic thinker capable of creating a clear vision for the customer.
* Strong understanding of shopper and market insights techniques.
* Experience leading or managing complex projects to implementation.
* Commercial experience.
* Experience with data platforms, interpreting data, generating reports, and translating insights into actions.
