Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor Job Overview
The Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all technical and maintenance activities in support of production. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to drive results in a safe, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly manner.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead Technical Teams: Direct and coordinate technical and maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of PMs, Calibrations (on or before due date on SAP), and Equipment Downtime Resolution.
* Maintenance Performance Metrics: Develop and track departmental KPIs to measure equipment and maintenance performance, including MTBF, MTTR, OEEs, schedule attainment, labour utilisation, work order backlog, PM/calibration completion rates, spare usage, and costs control.
* Maintenance Information Management: Ensure all maintenance information, including specifications, drawings, manuals, and SOPs, are up-to-date and easily accessible to colleagues.
* SAP Next Procedures: Follow established SAP procedures for effective maintenance management.
* Capital Expenditure Justification: Utilise defined maintenance data and business understanding to justify capital expenditure based on site needs and impact.
* Maintenance Project Activities: Plan, organise, direct, and control maintenance project activities to meet defined site objectives and provide technical support to the maintenance group.
* Scientific Risk-Based Approach: Develop a risk-based approach to identifying key critical spares for plant and equipment, ensuring they are readily available.
* SLA Setup: Establish Service Level Agreements as appropriate.
* Unplanned Works Resolution: Timely resolution of unplanned works, recording resolution, resource hours, and costs via SAP Work Order.
* PM and Calibration Frequencies: Collaborate with the Planner to set Optimised PM and Calibration Frequencies.
* Technical Data Presentation: Present technical data and lead tours of internal and external audit groups and customer visits.
* On-Site Contractor Management: Manage on-site contractors under area of responsibility, preparing required work permits and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
* Maintenance Documentation: Ensure comprehensive maintenance documentation exists for each equipment item, filed in an organised and legible manner in designated shared folders.
* Compliance and Quality: Maintain strict compliance with GMP and SOP procedures during diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and electronic plant and systems.
* Shutdown Activities: Lead shutdown activities, including planning, execution, and lessons learnt.
* Equipment and Process Performance Reporting: Report equipment and process performance utilising OEE tools to identify and address losses efficiently.
* Equipment Associated Spares, PMs, and Calibrations: Set up in SAP.
* Discretionary Spend and Capital Budgets: Manage department discretionary spend and capital budgets on a monthly and quarterly basis to avoid overspends.
* Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives through on-going assessment of equipment issues and reliability based on gathered data and statistical analysis.
