Orange Recruitment are Sourcing an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support one of our key clients in the utilities sector. This is a hands-on role focused on strengthening health and safety performance across their national supply chain. The successful candidate will work closely with the client's health and safety team and wider operational stakeholders to ensure compliance and support continuous improvement. Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day support to the client's national supply chain processes, ensuring all activities meet statutory requirements and internal procedures. Oversee end-to-end process delivery, producing clear performance reports, metrics, and improvement recommendations. Develop, maintain, and update health and safety process documentation and supporting materials. Work with internal teams and external partners to prepare tender documentation, review project scopes, and assess tender submissions from a safety perspective. Highlight areas of risk and identify opportunities to enhance safety performance across the supply chain. Assist with incident management, including investigation, reporting, and follow-up actions. Carry out audits, inspections, and compliance checks to support governance and adherence to company policies. Requirements: A relevant third-level qualification (minimum Diploma in Safety, Health and Welfare at Work or equivalent). At least three years' post-qualification experience in a comparable health and safety role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with on-site teams and external stakeholders. Competent IT skills, including experience with SharePoint and Microsoft applications such as Excel and Visio. Practical experience in safety oversight of supply chain or contractor management processes (e.g., assessments, KPIs, contractor controls). Experience writing reports, procedures, and safety documentation, including compiling information for KPIs and performance dashboards. Previous involvement in carrying out inspections within operational or industrial environments, ideally water or wastewater facilities. Familiarity with Safety Management Systems and Integrated Management Systems, including ISO, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001. Capable of analysing information from various sources to identify issues and support informed decision-making. Commitment to promoting and upholding a strong health, safety, quality, and environmental culture. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Full driving licence and access to own transport. Valid Safe Pass, manual handling, and low-risk confined space training are desirable; training can be arranged where required.
