About the role
We are recruiting for an RDA Technologist to support the development and optimisation of Enzymes and Brewing Ingredients within the RD&A team. This role is responsible for conducting research, developing prototypes, supporting internal and external customer projects, and ensuring product solutions meet both customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior R&D scientists, application, and commercial teams to deliver new high quality, innovative beverage solutions.
Key responsibilities
Conduct lab/pilot scale application trials to assess, under conditions mimicking the industrial environment, enzyme/ingredient performance in delivering benefits to our internal and external customers
Ensure product solutions meet customer, regulatory, and market requirements.
Develop and set-up analytical test methods for Enzymes, Ingredients and Processing aids and collaborate with cross-functional team for method handover.
Build knowledge of the Brewing Ingredients and Enzymes portfolio
Support customer visits requiring technical expertise.
Manage retained samples and monitor shelf-life requirements as necessary.
Maintain a tidy, safe R&D laboratory environment.
Prioritise workload based on business requirement and contribute to team project reviews.
Technical reporting of experiments, supporting timely RD&A project delivery and technology transfers.
Accurately recording data in accordance with guidelines and assisting in writing report for attention of various internal and external stakeholders.
Liaising with research/scientific staff within numerous internal Kerry teams.
Actively participate in R&D project meetings and reviews, providing critical feedback and technology insight
Supporting new product development, new method development set-up, application trials and procedures through lab work and data analysis
Participate in training and ongoing development
Qualifications and skills
BSc in Food Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
Effective interpersonal and rapport building skills; able to communicate clearly across all levels of the business.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Competence in writing technical documents such as research reports, SOPs, etc.
Experience in troubleshooting of laboratory equipment is advantageous.
Experience working in collaborative and multi-cultural environments in a plus.
