Job Description
Engineering Drawings
* Produce accurate and readable engineering drawings (AutoCAD type) in accordance with company procedures and work instructions.
* Process and Instrumentation Drawings (Process Flow Schematics).
* Plant Room Layout Drawings.
* General Arrangement Drawings for engineered skids.
Design Documents/Turnover
* Generate schedules for the procured equipment, valves and instruments for each project. Assist service department on generation of spares and consumables schedules.
* Collate all water treatment system O&M documentation and certification, prepare necessary copies for the client and ensure in-house accessibility.
* Ensure documentation traceable to the equipment supplied.
* Prepare a “hand‑over” pack for the service department system commissioning engineer.
* Transfer project documentation to central archive post project execution.
Validation Documentation
* Produce validation documentation (Installation Qualification, Commissioning Sheets, Operation Qualification) as directed following company procedure and work instructions.
* Ensure all validation documentation is correctly completed and accessible in-house.
Miscellaneous
* Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) as required.
* Attend “hand‑over” meetings.
* From Sales to Contracts identify and understand documentation requirements.
* From Contracts to Service outline documentation generated for the project.
* Comply with departmental changes to improve operations.
* Attend training courses as required.
Project Engineer Support – Graduate Engineer
As a Graduate Engineer, you will provide engineering support for the project engineer. Key responsibilities are described below.
Proposal & Contract stage
* Discuss enquiry with Engineering Manager or delegate and determine key criteria such as water quality specification, purification technologies, scope, budget and timeframe.
* Prepare and submit design and commercial proposals to clients and follow up to secure a purchase order.
* Obtain contract acceptance in writing and acknowledge receipt of the order.
* Attend “hand‑over” meetings from Sales to Contracts to confirm contract scope.
* Conduct design reviews to check sales design compliance with contract requirements, procurement budgets and installation method statements.
* Establish accurate personnel administration and record system in compliance with QA procedures.
* Produce contract programme, schedule and other administrative documents for each contract.
* Monitor progress, prepare reports and attend weekly progress meetings.
* Identify, quantify and agree on variations with client agents.
* Obtain assistance and input from other departments in a timely manner.
* Advise on technical standards and specifications and include these with procurement documents.
* Prepare a “hand‑over” pack and schedule system commissioning.
* Project‑manage all contracts until hand‑over to the client.
* Carry out post‑contract meetings to improve performance.
Finance
* Prepare and ensure completion and sign‑off of proposal design sheets and cost sheets.
* Review cost sheets and resources for successful contract completion.
* Prepare cost sheet with prior agreement from finance director and engineering manager.
* Agree cost sheet and valuations with client; liaise with finance director to ensure payment schedule compliance.
* Procure cost‑effective equipment in compliance with programme, terms and client specification.
* Monitor contract variations and generate variations engineering cost sheet for approval.
* Prepare cost spreadsheets to determine contract value and margin; monitor and improve margin without compromising quality.
* Submit contract management reports monthly to engineering manager or delegate.
Customer Liaison
* Represent the company on all contract matters and control all related correspondence.
* Maintain polite, professional client communications and promote good relations.
* Plan site operations with relevant organisations briefed on technical, safety and timescale requirements.
* Attend site meetings with client, engineering consultant and subcontractor.
* Ensure operating handbooks are issued to client in accordance with contract timeframe.
Health & Safety
* Be aware of risks associated with particular industries and request hazard details from client.
* Comply with all health and safety requirements when dealing with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Adhere to company and client safety regulations and employee obligations.
