Job Details
Job Title:
Support Worker
Shifts Available:
16 hours per week between 8.30 am to 4.30 pm from Monday to Sunday
Reporting Relationship:
This post will report to the Disability Coordinator
Vetting:
All applicants will be subject to reference checks, Garda Vetting and a request to provide security clearance from any country in which they resided for more than 6 months after their 16th birthday.

Candidate Requirements
Permissions:
Permission to work in Ireland.
Full clean driver's license (B category).
Education:
For Support Worker roles a minimum of a QQI Level 5 major award (8 components/modules) in Health or Social Care or equivalent is required, or a commitment to complete the major award if some components are already completed.
Advantage:
One year of experience in a Healthcare or Social Care setting.
Experience/knowledge of report writing and client support plans.
Skills & Experience
The ability to support the client group in a respectful way, with the client's goals at the centre of every task.
Understanding of how to prevent and manage challenging behaviour.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Comfortable using information technology and producing reports.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
Support service users with a physical disability
Experience in homecare and personal care
Support for service users who use a hoist and require personal care
Practice safe driving habits
Maintain company vehicles in good working order with attention to hygiene and presentation
Notify support team when items or services are needed for the vehicle
Help service users understand their environment, learn new skills and maximise independence
Assist individuals with daily living activities
Support individuals to live a meaningful life with equal citizenship
Facilitate service users to participate and integrate into the community
Act as an advocate for service users
Promote participation of service users in the formulation and execution of their care/placement plan
Accompany service users to appointments and events as required
Assist service users with reduced mobility
Undertake duties as assigned to support care of service users
Manage challenging behaviours using a positive behaviour support plan
Provide reports on client activities to management
Attend staff meetings and contribute to the progression/implementation of the care plan
