Medical Scientist Role Overview
A skilled Medical Scientist with expertise in microbiology is sought after to perform various tasks in a hospital laboratory setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting microbiological testing, working across benches in bacteriology and cell culture, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Performing microbiological testing on patient specimens
* Working across benches in bacteriology and cell culture
* Conducting AST and escalating critical results appropriately
* Operating and maintaining systems including Vitek 2 Compact and BacT/ALERT 3D
* Maintaining compliance with ISO and GLP standards in a hospital laboratory setting
* Contributing to internal quality control, EQA, and audit readiness
* Supporting LIS workflows and ensuring the integrity of clinical data
* Collaborating with infection control and clinical teams to improve patient outcomes
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years' experience working on the benches in a hospital medical laboratory
* Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience in microbiology
* Knowledge of ISO and quality systems in a hospital/clinical environment
* Experience in AST, blood cultures, bacteriology, and cell culture
* Familiarity with molecular diagnostics and LIS platforms
* Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
