Join STS Group as our next Project Manager (Grid Connections, Transmission and Distribution)
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our grid connection projects across Ireland. Our Transmission and Distribution team are currently involved with a number of renewable energy as well as healthcare facilities projects.

The Opportunity
As our next Project Manager, you’ll work closely with the project leadership team to ensure a safe and timely delivery of the projects for our clients. We require someone with a proven track record in the construction and management of power industry projects, such as substations and grid connection infrastructure. We are looking for a hands-on project manager with self-performing experience, with the proven skills and passion for managing a project from start to finish.
Here are some of the key duties of this role:
* Closely manage the successful delivery of our transmission and distribution projects.
* Liaise with management and wider project coordinators, design and build teams to schedule, keep track and report on project status.
* Develop and maintaining an exceptional Health and Safety culture throughout the project – everyone home safe.
* Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
* Actively manage risks and issues, proposing solutions to those that may have an impact on delivery timelines or quality.
* Attend and chair all project meetings with clients and management and report out on progress etc
* Hold weekly progress meetings with sub-contractors and ensure that safety and training are discussed.
* Ensure audits are carried out by the person responsible on site for Quality Control in accordance with the design plan.
Key Qualifications Required:
* Electrical trade or engineering qualification.
* 5+ years experience in project management roles
* Experience managing electrical substation projects with infrastructure / construction elements
* Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills
* Proven experience in managing, coordinating, and improving team skills and capabilities – we’re big on people development at STS.
* Experience in High Voltage projects and an awareness of Engineering processes and best practice.
Desirable but not Essential
* Formal H&S qualifications and training, i.e. ‘IOSH Managing Safely’ or similar.
