Senior Finance and Legal Leadership Opportunity
HPRA is seeking an exceptional Senior Finance and Legal professional to join its leadership team. As the Director of Finance, Legal and Corporate Affairs, you will play a key role in driving the organisation's strategic direction while ensuring financial sustainability and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in leading large teams and developing business strategies that drive growth and excellence. You will be responsible for managing financial risk, forecasting, procurement policy, and cost control mechanisms, as well as overseeing the HPRA's funding structure to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
You will also lead the legal section, providing timely and accurate legal advice to the leadership team and stakeholders. Additionally, you will contribute to the drafting and implementation of new legislation, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure regulatory alignment and clarity.
A strong networker with excellent communication skills, you will develop and maintain relationships with government departments, industry bodies, and other stakeholders. Your ability to work collaboratively, think strategically, and make informed decisions will be essential in driving organisational success.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure financial activities are delivered to agreed standards, ensuring compliance with legal and financial obligations.
* Lead the development of the organisation's financial strategy, planning, and performance.
* Manage financial risk, forecasting, procurement policy, and cost control mechanisms.
* Oversee the HPRA's funding structure, ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
* Provide timely and accurate legal advice to the leadership team and stakeholders.
* Contribute to the drafting and implementation of new legislation.
Requirements
* A relevant professional accounting qualification with a minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience as a Qualified Accountant.
* Minimum of 5 years' senior leadership/management experience in a similar role, with a track record of delivering on business objectives and advising on financial and legal issues.
* In-depth knowledge of public sector financial management policies and guidelines.
* Experience managing legal, statutory, and regulatory compliance obligations.
* Demonstrated ability to work successfully with senior stakeholders, representing organisational positions and negotiating effectively.
* Significant experience in leading large teams, enhancing a best-practice culture.
* Excellent problem-solving ability, evaluation of risk, and adaptability.
