Our client, Castleblaney Plant Hire Limited t/a Monaghan Hire based in Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan, is currently seeking Motor Mechanics for immediate start for their two locations in Co. Monaghan.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
* Carry out servicing, diagnostics and repair work on a wide variety of vehicles and small plant equipment used within our hire fleet.
* Maintain the safety, performance and reliability of machinery and supporting smooth operations across sites.
* Perform routine servicing and maintenance on diesel and petrol engines, small plant equipment, and company vehicles.
* Diagnose and repair faults in engines, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
* Conduct pre-hire inspections and post-hire checks to ensure equipment is in full working order.
* Maintain service records and complete job cards accurately and on time.
* Liaise with the Workshop Manager and other team members to prioritise repair work and minimise downtime.
* Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety standards.
* Identify and report any issues that may affect equipment safety or customer satisfaction.
* Occasionally assist with on-site breakdowns or emergency repairs when required.
Key Requirements – Skills, Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Motor Mechanic in a previous role.
* Experience in a plant hire company is a plus.
* No formal qualifications are required, but a certification relevant to the role is a plus.
* Ability to perform all job responsibilities listed above.
* Proven experience working with plant equipment, commercial vehicles, or agricultural machinery.
* Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A proactive and reliable attitude with attention to detail.
* Experience in a plant hire or construction environment.
* Familiarity with hydraulic systems and heavy‑duty components.
* Basic welding or fabrication skills.
Annual remuneration: €34,000.00 per annum; Pay rate €16.77 per hour.

Number of hours work each week: 39.
