Our CRD Engineering team is transforming our platform by adopting next-generation cloud technologies like Microsoft Azure, Kafka, and Snowflake. Summary:
This role involves managing a small QA team and working as a senior Scrum team member to implement quality plans for Charles River's products. The candidate should be a detail-oriented automation engineer with strong problem-solving skills, passionate about quality, and capable of delivering high-quality solutions.
The successful candidate will develop and support our software test automation infrastructure, plan and execute automated regression testing, maintain testing labs, and oversee product staging and certification during releases.
Financial services industry experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of QA engineers
- Collaborate with Scrum team members to ensure quality responsibilities are met
- Create automated test scripts from requirements and specifications
- Execute manual and automated tests (functional, integration, regression, performance)
- Maintain test script libraries
- Follow SDLC, Information Security, and Data Governance practices
- Document and communicate test results and software defects
- Lead testing initiatives, research new automation approaches, including AI
- Follow testing schedules for product delivery
- Participate actively in Agile processes and activities
- Guide junior staff in test automation creation
Qualifications:
Education:
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field; MS preferred.
Experience:
- 6-9 years in software testing within a process-driven environment
- Experience managing small teams (up to 10)
- Proficient in Java, C#, SQL, PowerShell, Bash
- Experience with automation testing tools and scripting for web, desktop, APIs, batch applications
- Ability to translate requirements into comprehensive test plans
- Knowledge of CRD functional areas is a plus
- Experience with Agile methodologies is desirable
Employees are expected to work from the office 2 days a week.
