Senior Resident Engineer | Marine Vickerstock are delighted to be working in partnership with a nationally recognised and highly respected engineering consultancy to support the appointment of a Senior Resident Engineer for a major offshore marine infrastructure project in the west of Ireland.
This is a high-profile €36m pier extension scheme, forming part of critical infrastructure.
The role is offered on an initial 18-month full-time contract, with the opportunity to work on a technically challenging and rewarding marine project from site through to delivery.
Your new role as Senior Resident Engineer Reporting to the Employers Representative, as the Senior Resident Engineer, you will take a lead site-based role, on this flagship marine project.
You will be responsible for overseeing construction activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, in accordance with contract requirements, specifications, programme, and budget.
You will work closely with the Contractor, Employer, and wider design team, providing strong technical oversight and leadership on site.
Key responsibilities will include: Managing and supervising site activities on a complex marine / offshore project.
Ensuring compliance with design drawings, specifications, and health & safety requirements.
Monitoring progress against programme and reporting to senior stakeholders.
Reviewing method statements, inspections, and test plans.
Certifying works, valuations, and managing variations.
Liaising with environmental, marine, and stakeholder bodies as required.
Maintaining accurate site records and producing regular progress reports.
What you'll need to succeed as a Senior Resident Engineer To be considered for this role, you should demonstrate: Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or Senior Resident Engineer on marine, coastal, offshore, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of contract administration and site supervision.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A practical, solutions-focused approach to complex site challenges.
Ability to work autonomously while representing the Engineer professionally on site.
Relevant engineering qualification (Civil / Structural or similar).
Experience working in Ireland or on Irish infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.
