Main Purpose of Job:
To maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchen area.
Main Responsibilities:
Kitchen Operations
* To be responsible for the cleaning of the kitchen area and ensure the level of cleanliness is to the desired standard.
* To operate any machinery correctly and ensure adherence to health and safety procedures at all times.
* To use all cleaning chemicals as directed.
* To adhere to all recycling procedures within the department when disposing of all kitchen waste.
* To be responsible for the routine cleaning of designated areas such as changing rooms and staff canteens when required.
Health and Safety
* To abide by the hotels health, safety and environmental procedures.
* To report any health, safety or environmental hazards within the hotel.
* To report any accidents, incidents and near misses that arise while on duty.
* Operating any machinery correctly.
Customer Service
* To provide an efficient and friendly service to guests at all times
* To follow the Mespil Hotel key standards at all times
* To handle any guest requests as required
* To maintain a positive, friendly attitude with both hotel guests and your colleagues
Presentation and Grooming
* Wearing the correct uniform and Personal Protective Equipment at all times while on duty (for example, rubber gloves, masks, eye goggles, safety shoes, uniform).
* Maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times.
Other Duties
* Attending any relevant training courses as required.
* Option of serving on hotel committees when required.
* Carrying out any other duties as directed by the Management.
* To help bring luggage to and from bedrooms when required.
* Assisting when necessary in other departments.
