Multi-Disciplinary Team Manager (SEO)The Medical Council are looking to recruit Multi-Disciplinary Team Managers within the Complaints and Investigations Directorate. The Directorate is responsible for advising and supporting the Council, the CEO and the Preliminary Proceedings Committee ("PPC"). The PPC is the screening committee responsible for considering complaints received by the Medical Council and deciding whether there is a case for the holding of an inquiry before the Fitness to Practise Committee.The Multi-Disciplinary Team Manager will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with support executives, Case Officers/Authorised Officers and solicitors. The MDT Manager will report to the MDT Solicitor assigned to their team.Key responsibilities will include:Providing operational management of the PPC Unit, offering leadership, direction and support to Case Officers/Authorised Officers and the support executives within the multi-disciplinary teams. Managing progression and timely advancement of cases within the team will be a key part of the role. Supporting and assisting the Solicitors with the progression, investigation and management of cases in the team, including the preparation of documentation and collation of evidence. Working collaboratively with other teams across the Complaints and Investigations Directorate, and other Directorates in the organisation. Oversee the accurate use and maintenance of data and case-management systems, ensuring high data quality, supporting staff in effective system utilisation, monitoring workflow efficiency, and contributing to enhancements in reporting and information governance.,Referring matters to patient liaison service as necessary. Participating in continuous improvement projects and taking responsibility for projects within the Directorate and the organisation. Providing assistance to members of the legal team in investigating and preparing high- profile complex cases including those involving suspension applications and High Court proceedings. Presenting and providing manager and logistical support to the CEO, PPC and Council as necessary, including preparation of reports, briefing material and case presentationsManaging and overseeing the work of the MDT Case Officers/Authorised Officers and MDT Support Executives, ensuring effective performance, development, and delivery of team objectives. Essential Criteria: At least three years of experience with investigation/case management in a similar role, ideally in a regulatory environment, professional body, or legal firmPresentation experience in communicating to a variety of stakeholders level both verbally and in written communications. Third level qualification. Desirable Criteria:A legal qualification would be a distinct advantagePrevious experience working in regulatory environmentA good knowledge and understanding of the Medical Practitioners Act 2007 as amended, particularly as it relates to the role and functions of the Medical CouncilPeople management experience would be extremely beneficialEssential Characteristics:Strong interpersonal skills including ability to effectively manage a busy teamAbility to manage his/her own time effectively, prioritise workload and set realistic timelines for delivery of required outputsAbility to work independently, to demonstrate initiative and to work as part of a team. Ability to flex and adapt to changing demands, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while managing a busy caseload. Highly organised approach and strong attention to detail in executing complex tasks and procedures. Ability to be clear, comprehensive and concise in communications, including reports (both qualitative and quantitative), minutes, website content and publications. Work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality. Confidence to communicate and manage a wide variety of stakeholders both internally and externally. Ability to analyse critically using problem solving skills and risk analysis. Excellent judgement and the confidence and discipline to deliver in a demanding environment. Details of this Appointment:Position Type: This appointment will be offered on a permanent basis, 6-month probation will apply.Salary: Starting salary will be at €58,847 which is the first point of the Senior Executive Officer PayScale.If you are currently a serving civil or public servant, your entry point to the PayScale may be higher based on your current salary.There will be salary increment each year in line with the Senior Executive Officer Grade PayScale and subject to satisfactory performance, until the maximum point on the scale has been reached. The rate of remuneration will not be subject to negotiation and may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Senior Executive Officer PayScale€58,847 €60,567 €62,285 €64,000 €65,723 €67,437 €69,157€71,637' (LS1 After 3 years satisfactory service at the maximum)€74, LS2 After 6 years satisfactory service at the maximum)Annual Leave: 29 working days plus public holidaysHours: 35 hours per week, Mon-Fri.Location: The Medical Council's offices are located at Kingram House, Kingram Place, Dublin 2. We operate a hybrid working model with both remote working and a current requirement for on-site attendance two days per week. This may be reviewed in time.Pension: The Medical Council offers a pension through the Public Sector Scheme. Contributions to the scheme will commence on joining the organisation.
