Role Purpose:
* Our client, a global leader in healthcare innovation, are looking for contract Controls/Systems Engineers to join their team at their state-of-the art manufacturing facility in Kilkenny.

* You'll work alongside a dynamic team of controls engineers, vision specialists, MES architects, and data scientists to design, validate, and deploy cutting-edge systems.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:
* Serve as a technical expert for manufacturing data and operations systems.
* Collaborate with OEM vendors to integrate equipment data into Oracle databases.
* Map data from PLCs, SCADA systems, and line controllers to database schemas.
* Lead risk assessments and validation activities for data acquisition systems.
* Troubleshoot and optimize data queries and system performance.
* Enhance existing software systems for real-time data acquisition and continuous improvement.
* Implement and validate new software and database solutions.
* Develop robust backup and recovery systems for both PC and PLC environments.
* Conduct cybersecurity risk analyses and drive maturity improvements in OT security.
* Define and manage OS update roadmaps across manufacturing systems.
* Partner with cross-functional teams to continuously improve processes and standards.
Education & Qualifications Required:
* A bachelor's degree in engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical, Biomedical, or Software) or a related discipline.
* 2-3 years' experience in the medical device or pharma industry or similar GMP environment is desired
* Experience with PLCs, SCADA and HMIs – Allen Bradley, Schneider, CodeSys
* Experience with FAT/SAT/IQ/OQ/PQ support
* Awareness of system and equipment validation requirements
* Experience of production support
* Experience with line controllers, MES systems and databases is a bonus
* Experience with new equipment introduction is a bonus
* Experience with Cognex vision systems is a bonus
* Fulltime onsite role in Kilkenny
* Some limited travel to OEM Vendors primarily in Europe may be required
