Purpose of Role:
The Electrical Apprentice will gain hands-on experience working alongside qualified electricians on a wide range of projects. This role offers structured on-the-job and off-the-job training, allowing you to build practical skills, technical knowledge, and industry-recognised qualifications. Tritech Electrical Ltd will support and facilitate registration with the SOLAS Electrical Apprenticeship Programme, providing a clear pathway to becoming a fully qualified electrician with a leading Irish contractor.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist qualified electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on construction sites
* Installation of cabling & containment in accordance with drawings and specifications
* Read and follow electrical drawings, schematics, and site instructions
* Use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment safely and correctly
* Carry out basic testing and fault-finding under supervision
* Follow site health & safety procedures, including Safe Pass and PPE requirements
* Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
* Work effectively as part of a site team and follow instructions from supervisors and forepersons
* Attend off-the-job training and assessments as required by SOLAS/ETB apprenticeship programme
Role Requirement:
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent (Maths and technical subjects desirable)
* Strong interest in electrical systems and construction environments
* Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and develop technical skills
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work in a physically demanding site environment
* Strong awareness of health & safety requirements
