Quality Officer Role Overview
The Quality Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with industry regulations and maintaining quality standards on site.
This position involves overseeing the implementation of quality management plans, inspections, and reporting to promote a "Right First Time" culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and Promote a "Right First Time" Culture: Foster an environment where quality is prioritized throughout the project lifecycle.
* Monitor and Report Non-Conformances (NCs): Conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
* Inspect and Verify Works: Ensure all works align with approved Mock-Ups and First Of Kinds, and inspect rework related to NCs.
* Collaborate with Site Teams: Review and enhance quality processes to optimize project outcomes.
* Develop Quality Management Plans: Create comprehensive plans to guide quality-related activities and ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
* Create Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs): Develop and update ITPs to guarantee project deliverables meet quality standards.
* Implement Inspection & Test Reports (ITRs): Oversee the implementation of ITRs and conduct regular audits to ensure project quality standards are met.
* Utilise Procore Platform: Document daily ITRS, manage quality-related site activities, and track progress on quality-related activities.
* Ensure Compliance with Codes and Standards: Guarantee all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
* Track and Report Progress: Monitor and report progress on quality-related activities for inclusion in project reports.
* Manage BCAR Documentation: Administer BCAR documentation, including weekly notifications, daily inspections, and coordination with the Assigned Certifier.
* Compile Completion Certificates: Compile and verify completion and ancillary certificates for all works.
* Organise Handover Documentation: Manage BREEAM certification processes, including site sustainability monitoring and monthly meetings with the BREEAM assessor.
* Attend Meetings and Conduct Inspections: Attend client, design, and site meetings to review quality and compliance standards, and conduct timely site inspections with documented reporting.
Key Qualifications and Skills
* Proven Experience: Proven experience in a quality-focused role within the construction industry.
* Strong Understanding: Strong understanding of quality management systems, BCAR regulations, and BREEAM certification.
* Inspection and Testing: Experience with inspection, testing, and quality documentation.
* Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Proficiency in Procore: Proficiency in Procore or similar project management software.
* Communication Skills: Strong communication and reporting abilities.
* BCAR and BREEAM Certification: Skills in BCAR and BREEAM certification.
