Temporary Research Project Officer (AI & Productivity) Location: Dublin South Contract duration: 11 months Fixed Term Contract About the Role Orange Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading public sector research organisation for a Temporary Research Project Officer to support a major pilot project on productivity, employment, and wages in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).
This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-impact policy research at European level.
The position supports project delivery, procurement preparation, research coordination and analysis.
Key Responsibilities Assist with day-to-day coordination of a multi-work-package research project, including literature reviews, survey preparation and case study design.
Support preparation of procurement documentation and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate with contractors and research partners; organise project meetings and follow-up activities.
Review and assess contractor deliverables for quality and accuracy.
Conduct literature reviews and background research using quantitative and/or qualitative methods.
Contribute to drafting reports, briefings, analytical summaries and project documentation.
Work both independently and collaboratively within a research team.
Required Qualifications University degree in economics, sociology, political science, law, business studies, statistics, or a related field.
Experience Required At least 2 years' relevant experience in applied research and/or policy in areas such as: AI policy and regulation Comparative survey research Labour market analysis or working conditions Productivity measurement Experience in project management or supporting project coordination, ideally in applied policy research.
Demonstrated professional writing skills in English.
Applicants will be asked to provide a short writing sample (up to 5 pages).
Key Skills Strong skills in organising and administering research projects.
Ability to conduct and synthesise literature reviews.
Competence in drafting research outputs and progress reports.
Ability to use digital and AI-based tools to support research and drafting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to adapt messages to different audiences.
Desirable Knowledge Familiarity with research on the impacts of AI on employment, productivity, and economic outcomes.
Understanding of the EU's digitalisation and AI policy agenda.
Knowledge of survey methodology.
Experience with labour market research or company-level practices.
