About the Role
As the new Group Accountant, you will report directly to the Financial Controller and be part of a team of five professionals.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Producing monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis commentary
* Assisting with consolidated accounts preparation
* Managing balance sheet reconciliations and financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
* Overseeing multiple audit processes and monitoring expenditure on capital projects
* Supporting payroll administration and statutory returns filing
* Monitoring costs and overheads, ensuring compliance with SOX regulations
* Identifying opportunities for process improvements and taking the lead on implementing changes
* Collaborating with the IT department on ERP migration from Dynamics to Business Central
Requirements for Success
To excel in this role, you should possess:
* A fully qualified accounting designation, with at least 3 years of industry experience in construction, engineering, or manufacturing sectors
* Strong audit expertise, including month-end close procedures for multiple entities
* Familiarity with Business Central ERP and the ability to post journals and perform day-to-day accounting tasks
* A full driving license and access to a car, as the role is based in a rural location
