We are seeking a
highly skilled Project Engineer
to join our client's dynamic engineering team in Cork on a
12-month minimum contract
.
Reporting directly to the Capital Projects Manager, this role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of initiatives from feasibility studies through to commissioning and validation at a fast-growing pharmaceutical site.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the
end-to-end delivery of capital projects
, following established project lifecycle methodologies.
* Partner with the Operations Engineering team to ensure
maximum equipment uptime
and drive process performance improvements.
* Identify and implement
continuous improvement projects
that boost reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize processes.
* Coordinate with
internal teams, external contractors, and vendors
for equipment installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
* Oversee
commissioning and validation activities
linked to capital project execution.
* Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of the site's project portfolio.
* Prepare
feasibility assessments, project budgets, and Requests for Capital Expenditure (RCEs)
.
* Support wider site initiatives and long-term operational objectives.
* Manage
contractor performance and compliance
, ensuring all safety procedures, training, and permits are adhered to at all times.
* Engage with global engineering networks, including
engineering forums and communities of practice
, to share knowledge and best practices.
Candidate Profile
Must Haves
* A degree in
Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering
(or a related discipline).
* 7–10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience
in project engineering roles.
* Strong knowledge of
cGMP standards and regulatory compliance
.
* Practical experience managing
change control processes
.
* Hands-on expertise with at least one of the following areas:
* Oral Solid Dose (OSD) manufacturing (tablet presses, roller compactors, coaters, blenders, mills, etc.)
* Cleanroom systems/utilities (HVAC, CIP, purified water, nitrogen, etc.)
Advantageous
* Background in
process engineering
, including batch processing, automation, commissioning, validation, and continuous improvement.
* Familiarity with
Trackwise change control systems
.
* Experience in
electrical system design and installation
, including process equipment and site electrical infrastructure (ATE knowledge a plus).
