Post 2369 - Production Operator (Cork) Cork Post 2369 Production Operator, Component (Blood Processing) Department Full Time Permanent Cork Centre The IBTS is currently recruiting a full-time, permanent Production Operator based in the Components Department, National Blood Centre. The purpose of the role is: The processing of platelet apheresis donations (primary processing). The production of specialised blood components (secondary processing). The labelling of blood components for clinical use. The banking of blood components for clinical use. General upkeep of the blood processing department including cleaning, daily/weekly checks of equipment and the replacement of consumable stocks. The issuing of blood products in the Despatch (Hospital Services) Department which operates 24/7 and 365 days per year. Manage stock of blood products in the Munster Regional Transfusion Centre liaising with the national Supply Chain Manager and colleagues in the National Blood Centre. Liaise with a range of stakeholders including Diagnostics and QC to ensure the sufficiency and adequacy of a range of blood components Promote and develop a culture of customer focus and service excellence. Develop a culture of lean and continuous improvement. Liaise with colleagues in hospitals regarding blood stock management. Essential Criteria: Leaving certificate or equivalent. Production or Manufacturing experience Excellent interpersonal and communication skills The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team Good attention to detail with a high level of accuracy Computer literacy with good keyboard skills Desirable Criteria: Experience in a GMP environment/ completed a relevant course in GMP such as Higher Certificate in GMP and Technology. Experience in a Medical or Pharmaceutical laboratory environment The salary scale attached to the post is the Medical Laboratory Aide scale €41,117 to €48,064 (incl. LSI) pro rata per annum.
