This role involves making credit line decisions and acting as the direct line manager for the credit team. Using a professional and proactive attitude, you will provide your team with clear guidance and support, encouraging productivity and ensuring that targets and deadlines are met.You will also produce and analyze complex debt ledgers and identify key issues requiring strong analytical and numerical skills. You will work closely with front-of-office departments, including sales and pricing teams, so an ability to build strong working relationships is a mu st.Ideal CandidateA leader with previous credit and people management experience.Self-motivated and results-driven.Eager to expand their knowledge and skills.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the credit team.Ensure adequate training and coaching is available for team members.Ensure credit, collections, and customer accounts are maintained to the highest standard and in line with SLAs.Effectively handle customer queries and escalations.Agree on customer payment plans.Liaise with Debt Collection Agencies (DCAs) and legal counsel when applicable.Assist colleagues as business demands.Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.Represent the organization on appropriate professional bodies and attend meetings as required.Review accounts periodically with Credit Controllers and Sales Management.Key AccountabilitiesDebtors ledger management.Maintain a high level of performance in conjunction with company KPIs.Agree on customer credit terms and limits.Handle customer queries.Ensure that all customer records are properly maintained.Ensure relevant transactions are processed on a daily basis.Ensure SOX compliance is adhered to at all times.RequirementsExperience: Minimum of 5 years of credit experience is essential; experience within a fast-paced corporate credit environment is advantageous.Management: Minimum of 2 years of strong people management experience is essential.Skills: Demonstrated understanding of debt ledgers and strong negotiation skills are essential.Compliance: Knowledge of SOX compliance is an advantage.Qualifications: A relevant professional qualification is an advantage.Travel: Full Class B driver’s license and flexibility to travel.
