A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent permanent, temporary or locum Social Care Worker appointments within the Deerpark Services may be made over the next six months.
Our Service
Deerpark Services provides community-based day, respite and residential services to adults with varying support needs based on personal outcome measures.
We focus on forming a relationship/partnership with each individual and their family to support people to be valued citizens in their local community and have ordinary life experiences.
We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and form real friendships.
The Role
The Social Care Worker will report to the Team Leader and will fulfill a key role in providing a safe, secure environment where individuals participate in community and leisure activities, make choices and enjoy a lifestyle that fulfills their potential and expectations with opportunities for new experiences.
We are looking for individuals with experience working with people with complex needs including autism, mental health issues and behaviors that challenge.
Candidates need to be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individuals they support on a daily basis.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Reporting/Responsible To: Team Leader/Team Manager/Service Coordinator/Area Manager
Qualifications: The recognized professional qualifications for social care are as follows:
• HETAC/NQAI BA Degree in Applied Social Care Studies/Social Care Open Training College (HETAC) accredited BA in Applied Social Studies (Disability)
A full clean manual driving license, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads and use of your own car is an essential requirement.
Good IT skills and a knowledge of the organisation's IT system is essential.
Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
Experience: Experience of working with people with an intellectual disability is desirable.
Experience of working with individuals with challenging behavior/mental health diagnosis and/or autism is essential.

Staff will be expected to network with local community groups and develop positive links for the individuals who use the service.
Working Hours and Remuneration
Working hours: 78 hours per fortnight based on a 7-day duty roster involving working sleepovers, split shifts, night duty, public holidays and weekend work.
The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide quality service delivery for each individual.
Annual leave: 22 days per annum.
Remuneration: Department of Health Social Care Worker pay scale as per the consolidated salary scale dated 01st March 2025 - €39,951 x 10 increments - €55,049 (max) per annum.
LSI €56,089 per annum is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.
Tenure: Permanent full-time and pensionable.
Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post.
The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment.
The probation period may be extended at the Employer's discretion.
