Shift Manager Night Operations Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Shift Manager to lead our nightshift operations. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for coordinating nightly production, ensuring high-quality products, and driving continuous improvement across the plant.
The Role
* Organise and co-ordinate nightly production to meet customer requirements and daily plans.
* Promote safe working practices and ensure company safety standards are understood and followed by everyone on shift.
* Maximise productivity by increasing run speeds, reducing downtime, and optimising labour and materials.
* Ensure all product produced on the shift is of the highest quality and meets specification.
* Manage the night-to-night personnel operations of the plant, including allocation of work and support of your team.
* Lead and standardise processes, ensuring consistency across teams and lines.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the plant.
* Prepare clear nightly handover reports for the incoming shift and the Production Manager.
The Person
* 3-5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within a production or manufacturing environment.
* A technical or industrial engineering qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to lead by example and get the best from teams.
* Confident, assertive communicator who can effectively engage up, down, and across the business.
* Positive, 'can do' attitude and driven by achievement and success.
* Proven organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage multiple demands on a busy shift.
* Solid knowledge of machinery and production processes.
* Experience of identifying improvement opportunities and delivering continuous improvement activities.
* Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and techniques.
