Enterprise Architect, Telco BSS
The Enterprise Architect determines optimal architectural approaches and solutions to business requirements across enterprise-wide applications. They oversee the technical correctness and completeness of end‑to‑end system design, including the work of others, and contribute to the planning of the overall IT strategy, with a specific focus on Business Support Systems (BSS) that support the end‑to‑end sales, ordering, care and billing flows underpinning Three’s products and services.
Responsibilities
Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and define supporting high‑level architectures.
Govern the progression of architectures through the various stages of the delivery life cycle, through to implementation.
Facilitate and drive the IT decision‑making process.
Support the budgetary process by providing high‑level ROM estimates for projects.
Support the delivery process by providing review and input to project/sprint planning.
Create, review and approve solution design artefacts, where appropriate.
Be technology agnostic and able to work across all layers of the architecture and across differing technologies and vendors.
Contribute to the IT strategy, and be responsible for the evolution of your architecture domain(s).
Keep abreast of new industry trends, patterns, standards or technologies that impact your domain(s).
Maintain the end‑to‑end view, where multiple components, suppliers and design artefacts are in play.
Work as part of a collaborative IT architecture team, providing support and expertise to colleagues and leveraging other’s expertise when required.
Be able to manage multiple and varied suppliers, to collaboratively design and deliver the agreed architecture.
Engage with business stakeholders providing support and technical leadership to relevant Tribe leaders.
Communicate your vision effectively to achieve stakeholder buy‑in.
Skills & Experience
Effective collaboration skills, focusing on strong working relationships with all functional units of the organization.
Facilitates discussions and differing perspectives while able to set the course.
Ability to work as part of a cross‑cultural team and multi‑supplier ecosystem, in the office and virtually.
Experience of working in an Agile Methodology.
Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
Works well under pressure and is able to manage competing priorities.
Ability to problem solve and recommend creative and innovative technical solutions with standard and non‑standard approaches and technologies.
Additional Qualifications
Knowledge and experience of BSS (Business Support Systems) architectures in a telecoms environment.
Knowledge and experience of Mobile Virtual Network Enablers (MVNE) solutions.
Experience of working with the Amdocs BSS is a plus.
Relevant degree level education.
