Safety Consultant Role
We are seeking a skilled Safety Consultant to join our team as an Urgent Site Contractor Safety Coordinator.
About the Job
* The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and evaluating contractor prequalification and requalification questionnaires, along with supporting HSE documentation.
* This involves collaborating with Client Representatives to review and approve task-specific method statements and risk assessments.
* You will also consult with Client Representatives to determine the scope of work for each contractor and establish appropriate training requirements for HSE induction.
* Furthermore, you will confirm that contractor companies are HSE qualified to work on-site and that individual contractors scheduled for HSE induction have current SOLAS Safe Pass cards, manual handling training, and other relevant task-specific training.
* Your duties will also include ensuring that individual contractors successfully complete general HSE induction knowledge checks before presenting to security for access control cards.
* In addition, you will review and approve permits to work and risk assessment documents for external contractors carrying out on-site work.
* You will visit worksites prior to approving permits for high-risk activities, such as high-energy hot work in hazardous areas.
* Another key responsibility will be performing daily, weekly, and monthly safety audits of permit to work, lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space entry, and general contractor documentation and work practices.
* As a Safety Consultant, you will actively manage the contractor Safety Observation Report (SOR) programme and participate in the site safety observation programme (B-safe).
* You will also lead and participate in event investigations and follow up as required.
* Furthermore, you will participate in and facilitate contractor HSE meetings as needed.
* Last but not least, you will work closely with site project, maintenance, and other functions, as well as the HSE team, to manage HSE aspects of contractor works.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), or a related field.
* Relevant industry certifications, such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent.
* Proven experience in contractor management, preferably in a similar role.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
