Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our technical team based in Drogheda. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing advanced control systems that support continuous production processes.
The chosen candidate will also act as Network Owner, managing servers, control system software, and communication systems.
A strong understanding of Windows operating systems, security, and network configuration is essential.
* Maintain and develop Siemens PCS7 central control system to ensure efficient operation across all plant operations.
* Design, develop, and program software for plant projects and system modifications.
* Undertake software modifications, troubleshooting, and PID loop tuning to optimize control performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in a technical engineering discipline.
* Minimum of 5 years' hands-on industrial experience in control systems or automation.
* Proven experience with Siemens PCS7, Step 7, Simatic Manager, and WinCC.
* Skilled in PLC programming languages such as CFC, FBD, and STL.
* Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, security, and network configuration.
* Exposure to SQL and at least one high-level programming language.
* Awareness of OT cyber security practices and system archiving/restoration.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across technical teams.
