About Your New Job
As Senior Civils Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in securing and shaping major civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Working as part of a high-performing Preconstruction team, you will lead the preparation of detailed and competitive cost estimates while supporting the development of winning tender strategies.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the preparation of accurate and detailed cost estimates for major tender submissions.
Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive and reliable pricing for work packages.
Reviewing project documentation, specifications, drawings, and programmes to identify opportunities and risks.
Supporting the development of bid-winning strategies aligned with current market conditions.
Managing the commercial and technical evaluation of tender returns.
Ensuring effective handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams.
What You Will Need
The successful candidate will bring a strong technical and commercial background, along with a proven ability to deliver accurate and competitive estimates for large-scale civil engineering projects.
You will ideally have:
A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
A minimum of 10 years' estimating experience within the construction or civil engineering sector.
Recent experience operating at Senior Estimator level.
A strong background in heavy civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, roads, bridges, utilities, marine works, or major groundworks.
Proven experience working with a main contractor on large-scale civils or infrastructure projects.
Excellent analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
The ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and estimating software/databases.
A collaborative mindset and a passion for supporting and developing team members.
