CoolPlanet operates in seventeen different global regions.Position Overview:As an Energy Subject Matter Expert (SME), you'll be a senior technical leader within our Energy Solutions team, responsible for identifying, designing, and supporting the delivery of impactful energy and carbon reduction initiatives for large industrial and commercial clients.You will work closely with both external customers and internal teams, acting as a trusted advisor to help define and deliver projects that create real, measurable value. Your expertise in utilities, heat recovery, and renewables will enable you to bridge the gap between data-driven insights and on-the-ground technical execution.Key Responsibilities of an Energy Subject Matter Expert (SME)Lead the technical assessment and development of energy efficiency and decarbonisation opportunities across client sites.Analyse process and utility data to identify opportunities for energy reduction, waste heat recovery, and renewable integration.Develop a deep understanding of a customer's process with a view to identifying possible energy savings opportunitiesSupport the design and implementation of solutions across boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, CHP, and process heating systems.Work collaboratively with internal engineering, analytics, and project delivery teams — providing guidance, mentorship, and technical validation.Assist in operationalising existing internal savings delivery workflows and increase the rate of savings deliveryServe as a trusted advisor for internal teams as they develop new offerings and approaches that maximise customer value.Engage directly with clients to translate technical findings into actionable business insights and investment-ready opportunities.Collaborate with suppliers, OEMs, and contractors to ensure the successful delivery of high-performance energy projects.Contribute to the development of CoolPlanet's best practices, tools, and methodologies for energy optimisation and sustainability.About YouYou are an accomplished energy professional who combines deep technical understanding with strong communication and commercial awareness.
