Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Fund Accounting Manager to oversee our fund accounting team and ensure the delivery of high-quality services to our clients. The successful candidate will have a strong background in hedge fund administration, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage client relationships, ensuring consistent service through interaction with clients and senior management.
* Oversee and develop teams of up to 10 employees.
* Resolve fund accounting inquiries escalated by supervisors or administrators.
* Ensure timely resolution of aged items on cash and position reconciliations.
* Review daily and monthly NAV calculations.
* Develop and enhance NAV calculation workflows and procedures.
* Review fee calculations and profit and loss allocations.
* Assess monthly, yearly, and inception-to-date performance metrics.
* Manage the audit process, ensuring timely completion of fund audits and preparation of financial statements.
* Investigate accounting implications of new products.
* Oversee client initialization and transition processes.
* Participate in fund accounting training development and presentation.
* Manage recruitment, training, and performance evaluations within fund accounting.
* Address exceptional problems and undertake special projects as assigned.
* Handle complex client calls.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with Investor Services, Quality Assurance, Client Servicing, and Compliance departments.
Desired Skills and Experience:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Hedge Fund Administration, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level. Alternative Hedge Fund experience may be considered.
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, Legal, or Business.
* Intention to pursue a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA) is advantageous but not required.
* Proficient in IT.
* Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Flexibility to work effectively within a team or independently.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Good initiative with the ability to identify when escalation is needed.
