Full Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Youth Basketball Coach / Lead Basketball Specialist to deliver high-quality basketball coaching across youth camps, small group sessions, and 1-to-1 player development programmes.This role is ideal for a coach who is passionate about youth development, technical skill progression, and creating a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment for young athletes.Responsibilities:Plan and deliver engaging basketball coaching sessions for youth players across camps, group training, and 1-to-1 development sessions.Act as Lead Basketball Specialist by setting coaching standards and supporting assistant or junior coaches where required.Lead basketball-specific coaching focused on fundamentals such as shooting, ball handling, passing, footwork, defence, spacing, and game awareness.Design age-appropriate and progressive training programmes tailored to individual player needs and development stages.Deliver high-energy basketball camps during school holidays, ensuring sessions are safe, well-organised, and development-focused.Provide clear, constructive feedback to help players improve confidence, skills, and understanding of the game.Ensure all coaching activities comply with safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety standards.Build strong, positive relationships with players, parents/guardians, and fellow coaching staff.Please note: Applicants must have experience coaching basketball in a structured youth development environment.Requirements:Proven experience coaching youth basketball (club, academy, school, or development programme level).Recognised basketball coaching qualification (Basketball Ireland Level 1/2, FIBA, or equivalent).Strong understanding of youth athlete development, basketball fundamentals, and session planning.Ability to coach group sessions as well as individual 1-to-1 player development sessions.Excellent communication skills and a professional, positive coaching approach.Valid or willingness to obtain First Aid / CPR certification.Garda Vetting (or willingness to complete).Job Type: Part-timePay: From €20.00 per hourBenefits:FlexitimeWork Location: Remote
