Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Assistant - Sensory Science/ Food Safety / Food Quality within School of Biosystems and Food Engineering. Three research assistant positions are available in the UCD school of Biosystems and Food Engineering in the CampyDecon Project, which seeks to understand new techniques to maintain the safety of nutritious poultry products for consumers. Working closely with the poultry sector, we are developing novel decontamination and detection technologies for poultry processing based on spectral imaging, cold plasma and light and green chemicals. These interventions have great potential to control food safety risks in poultry processing and extend safe shelf-life and require evaluation from a range of perspectives including sensory analysis, biological safety assurance and microbiological quality.
