We are seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Mechanical Estimator to join our estimating team in Charleville, Cork.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and organised records of drawings, reports, specifications, and cost sheets.
Support the tendering process by logging and updating documentation to ensure traceability.
Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems and construction projects including labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor elements.
Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to gather quotations and resolve technical queries.
Collaborate with senior estimators to benchmark costs, update pricing databases, and refine estimation methodologies.
Ensure all work aligns with company procedures, health & safety regulations, and industry standards.
Participate in tender reviews and contribute to continuous improvement processes.
Skills & Competencies
Strong organisational and document control skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel essential); experience with estimating tools/software advantageous.
Good numerical and analytical abilities.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and mechanical specifications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Positive, proactive, and professional team player.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or Quantity Surveying (MEP focus).
Previous placement, internship, or industry experience is desirable.
Familiarity with construction tendering and contract processes is an advantage.
