Job Title: First-Year Apprentice Technician

About Us:
We are a well-established Irish-owned, family-run business specialising in new and used car sales since 1973. Our fully authorised Nissan and Honda parts and service centre operates from locations on the Long Mile Road and in Deansgrange, Dublin.
Role Overview:
This role presents a great opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians, gaining hands-on experience with the latest tools and technologies. You will assist with routine maintenance tasks, diagnose mechanical issues, and learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Assist technicians in diagnosing mechanical issues and carrying out repairs on a variety of vehicles.
2. Gain hands-on experience in routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tyre rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
3. Develop troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical problems, learning to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
4. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, following health and safety regulations.
5. Learn to identify and replace worn or faulty vehicle components under supervision.
6. Assist in performing pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and conducting basic vehicle checks.
7. Stay engaged in ongoing training and development to enhance technical knowledge and practical skills.
Requirements:
1. Leaving Certificate – 60% across all subjects in Leaving Cert Applied or 5 Achieved Subjects in Junior Certificate.
2. Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills in basic car maintenance.
3. Full clean driving licence with the ability to drive and handle various types of vehicles, including manuals and automatics.
4. Confidence in maneuvering vehicles through tight spaces and across various driving conditions.
5. Physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including lifting, standing, and working in different weather conditions.
6. Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
