The role involves supporting senior chefs, following recipes and instructions accurately, and developing the skills and knowledge required to progress within the culinary profession.The Commis Chef maintains a clean, organised, and hygienic work area, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations. Responsibilities include assisting with stock control, minimising waste through effective stock rotation practices, and reporting any shortages, quality concerns, or operational issues to senior team members.Working closely with colleagues across all sections, the Commis Chef contributes to the smooth operation of the kitchen or bakery, communicates effectively with the team, and supports service and production requirements as needed. The role also involves assisting with food preparation, learning new techniques, and maintaining strict quality standards at all times.The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, a positive attitude, and a commitment to Bread 41's values and culture.
