Job Description:
As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for managing tenancies and supporting residents to maintain successful living arrangements. Your duties will include overseeing the start, duration, and end of tenancies, monitoring rent accounts, engaging with tenants to resolve arrears, and working with finance teams to ensure timely payments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tenancy Management: Ensure effective management of tenancies from sign-up to termination.
2. Rent Collection & Arrears Management: Monitor rent accounts and engage with tenants to resolve any issues related to non-payment.
3. Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Investigation: Investigate complaints and implement appropriate interventions to prevent ASB.
4. Property Inspections: Conduct regular estate and property inspections to identify maintenance needs.
5. Resident Engagement: Build strong relationships with tenants and respond to their queries.
6. Partnership Working: Collaborate with social services, support agencies, and internal departments to provide holistic support to residents.
7. Safeguarding & Welfare: Identify vulnerable tenants and ensure they receive necessary support.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a housing management or tenancy support role.
* Strong understanding of housing legislation, tenancy law, and safeguarding practices.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to manage a busy caseload with strong organisational skills.
* Proficiency in using housing management systems and Microsoft Office.
* A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (if fieldwork is required).
