Respite Service Summary:

The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland - Southern Region provides high-quality, person-centred supports to children with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. Our Chiildren's Respite Services are based in Ballinhassig, Co. Cork, offering planned day and overnight breaks for children aged years.

Due to expansion of our day respite service, we will be operating 7 days a week as well as providing our existing overnight breaks. Respite is available throughout the year, including school holidays, and focuses on creating a safe, supportive, and homely environment where children can enjoy meaningful experiences away from home while families receive essential respite.

Our approach is grounded in person-centred planning, enabling children to participate in activities that reflect their interests and goals while supporting their independence, communication, and personal care needs. Staff work collaboratively with families, schools, and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and positive outcomes for every child.

The ethos of the Brothers of Charity Services is based on respect, inclusion, dignity, and partnership and we strive to create opportunities for each child to develop skills, build relationships, and enjoy a high quality of life.
