The role
Overview
To provide cover in the event of delays in formal safety manager arriving on a project; cover for annual leave/medical leave; cover for an SM leaving a project before a replacement can be appointed and starting on site; additional cover/support, if required, for issues that may arise on a project.
Opportunity
In this role you will:
Enhance, and improve, existing construction safety management procedures through a visible on-site presence, and through active participation in all aspects of day-to-day Health & Safety management on the projects
Provide guidance on client safety management requirements, systems and procedures identification, assessment, and evaluation of high-risk activities
Carry out health and safety audits across the project
Monitor and report on Client driven Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Support provision of safety training to PM teams
Adopt a strong and visible ‘Boots on the Ground’ approach to health and safety
Carry out detailed reviews of Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), safe plans of action, lifting plans, etc
Evaluate the effectiveness of Health & Safety planning at site level; e.g. through the assessment of communications with all parties incident and accident investigation including RCA analysis.
Qualifications
Can provide roving onsite support to existing safety management team on DC projects in EMEA
Have a formal qualification in Health & Safety management (minimum EQF level 6)
Are available to travel to various projects to provide onsite support
Have a minimum of 3-5 years experience required with high risk activity management (Previous experience on data centre projects an advantage but not essential)
Have experience of managing and auditing high risk activities
Are fluent English speaking & with associated excellent reporting skills
Have an EU passport.
