We are hiring Clinical Nurse Manager II Bed Management - - Full Time (37.5hrs per week) to a leading hospital in Dublin,Ireland.
Responsibilities Lead and coordinate hospital bed management activities, ensuring safe, timely, and effective patient flow across all clinical areas.
Oversee daily bed allocation and utilisation, working closely with clinical teams, admissions, discharge planners, and site management.
Support escalation and capacity management plans, responding proactively to surges in demand and operational pressures.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate timely admissions, transfers, and discharges in line with hospital policies.
Monitor patient flow performance indicators, including length of stay and delayed discharges, and support improvement initiatives.
Provide clinical leadership and decision-making within the bed management function, maintaining patient safety and quality of care.
Ensure effective communication with ward managers, clinical nurse managers, medical teams, and external agencies as required.
Participate in service planning and operational reviews, contributing to process improvement and best-practice bed utilisation.
Support governance, quality, and risk management, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, HIQA standards, and data protection requirements.
Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism, working hours(37.5 per week) to meet service needs in a dynamic acute hospital environment.
Requirements Be registered on the General Division of the NMBI Register and hold a current, valid NMBI PIN.
Have a minimum of five years' post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting, including at least two years in a management or leadership role (essential).
Demonstrate strong clinical leadership and motivation, with the ability to guide, influence, and support staff effectively.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with staff at all levels, both internal and external to the organisation.
Demonstrate sound decision-making, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a structured and methodical approach to work.
Have proven ability to work under pressure, use initiative, and manage challenging situations while maintaining patient safety and service efficiency.
Show strong awareness of confidentiality, discretion, and professional accountability in all aspects of practice.
Be competent in the English language, both written and verbal, to support effective communication and documentation.
Possess good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant systems.
