My client, based in Cork City centre, is a progressive and professional liquidations and receiverships firm established in 2009. They have been appointed as Liquidators to over 1,000 Irish companies across a range of industries. They are acknowledged as one of Ireland's leading experts in the field and regularly contribute to Irish media on their practice areas.
In partnership with Brightwater they are looking to hire a Personal Insolvency Assistant on an initial 9-month contract.
This is a key administrative and client-facing role within a busy Personal Insolvency Practice. The successful candidate will work closely with all team members, taking ownership of case file management and crucial client documentation gathering to progress insolvency cases planned by the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Client Engagement & Communication:
* Serve as a primary point of contact, managing inbound calls and conducting professional, empathetic, and confidential client engagement.
* Demonstrate exceptional empathy, compassion, and professionalism when dealing with clients in sensitive financial situations.
* Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
* Case Documentation & Administration:
* Take ownership of active cases by requesting, collecting, and collating all necessary supporting documentation from clients (e.g., payslips, bank statements, insurance policies, ID documents).
* Accurately complete consultation forms and prescribed insolvency forms based on client-provided information.
* Familiarity with, and experience in completing, Standard Financial Statements (SFS) and a strong understanding of personal income and expenditure is essential.
* Creditor/Third-Party Liaison:
* Effectively manage and respond to communications and queries from banks and creditors.
* File Management & Compliance:
* Ensure all client files are well-managed and meticulously organised according to specific internal protocols.
* Learn and apply the terms of formal insolvency arrangements, track the client's adherence to these terms, and ensure files reflect ongoing performance.

* Communication: Exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to exude confident competence and build trust with clients.
* Empathy: A high degree of compassion and sensitivity when dealing with clients facing financial distress.
* Confidentiality: Proven ability to handle sensitive information with absolute discretion.
* Organisational Skills: Highly meticulous, with strong attention to detail and excellent file management abilities.
* Financial Literacy: A strong working knowledge of personal finance, income, and expenditure.
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience in banking or finance is a distinct asset, particularly for individuals who may have experience dealing with credit applications, lending, or debt management.
* An understanding of what a proposal to a creditor entails; experience in drafting such proposals is a significant advantage.
* This role may be particularly well-suited for a former or retired banker or professional with strong financial services experience.
