Dairygold Co-op Superstores is accepting applications for a Retail Supervisor position in the Garden Centre at Carrigaline Co-op Superstores, Cork. Applications are invited from experienced garden centre/horticultural professionals with a proven track record in a busy trading environment, preferably with people management experience.
The Retail Supervisor will support the Branch Manager in daily operations of the Garden Centre and the overall site to achieve set objectives.

The successful candidate will report to the site manager.
Responsibilities
* Lead a safety-first culture on site, promoting safety initiatives.
* Ensure excellent customer experience aligns with Co-Op SuperStores standards.
* Optimize sales and continuously improve store operations to meet and exceed targets.
* Maintain high standards in merchandising and store presentation.
* Assist with management duties including keyholder responsibilities.
* Support the Branch Manager in achieving objectives.
* Lead and develop the sales team, ensuring effective communication and training.
* Manage stock deliveries, control, and availability of products.
* Ensure compliance with policies, legislation, and audit standards.
* Assist with business administration tasks such as cash management and stock control.
* Perform other activities necessary for the smooth operation of the garden centre and site.
Candidate Requirements
* Relevant horticulturist qualification is essential, with people management experience preferred.
* Proven retail experience with strong product knowledge.
* Good understanding of business and commercial awareness.
* Experience delivering excellent customer service and understanding its impact on sales.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong organizational, planning, and attention to detail.
* Initiative and solutions-oriented mindset.
* Self-motivated and flexible.
* Proficient in IT including MS Office, POS systems, and email.
