The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for managing the onsite logistics function. This hands-on supervisory role focuses on driving productivity, efficiency, compliance, and fostering high motivation and engagement within the logistics team. A mindset oriented towards continuous improvement for supply chain processes is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the onsite logistics team of 3 to ensure effective and compliant shipping operations.
2. Coordinate outgoing shipments accurately to customer sites and distribution centers to meet deadlines domestically and internationally.
3. Serve as the escalation point for all shipping-related issues.
4. Identify opportunities for process and technology improvements and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Collaborate closely with corporate supply chain and customer service to meet customer needs.
6. Manage carriers and freight forwarders, supervise performance, improve service levels, and build strong relationships.
7. Identify alternative routes or transportation modes to enhance flexibility and service quality.
8. Ensure compliance with freight, customs, and cost regulations.
9. Support strategic projects to address freight constraints.
10. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team to achieve objectives and implement best practices.
Experience and Qualifications:
* High proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems, with 5+ years of relevant logistics experience.
* Third-level qualification and/or 5+ years in a logistics leadership role demonstrating team performance optimization.
* Excellent communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
* Knowledge of Quality, Compliance, and GMP standards.
* Strong systems skills and computer literacy.
* Proactive with the ability to work cross-culturally and interface effectively at all organizational levels.
