Objective
The principal objective of the post is to coordinate a suite of microcredentials for Nursing Home Managers working in the Residential Care Sector in Ireland. The candidate will also support the delivery and coordination of a number of Continuous Professional Development (CPDs) programmes in the Faculty. RCSI seeks a professional passionate about teaching to contribute as an academic in a multicultural environment.
Responsibilities
* Participate in the administration, design, delivery, assessment and coordination of new educational programmes in the Faculty.
* Contribute to the development and introduction of new teaching programmes, teaching modalities and assessment modes.
* Liaise with colleagues across RCSI international campuses and beyond (other HEIs and the Health Service) to facilitate, develop and advance teaching activities.
* Contribute to quality assurance/quality improvement and accreditation and evaluation of new/existing modules.
* Perform other related duties as may be required.
* Represent the best interests of the Faculty and wider RCSI at all times.
* Undergo programmes of training and development as required.
* Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students at Masters and PhD levels.
* Apply for and administer funding applications.
Qualifications & Skills
* Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Health Systems/Public Health.
* Strong teaching interest and skill set with a proven track record in postgraduate teaching and assessment in Health Systems and Public Health.
* Internationally competitive research record, evidenced by peer‑reviewed publications and grant support.
* Enthusiasm for specialist teaching area and ability to engage students.
* Capacity for original thought and innovative teaching methods.
* Ability to adapt teaching methods to ensure student understanding.
* High proficiency with online learning methodologies.
* Demonstrated interest in supporting students’ whole development.
* Experience with residential care settings.
* Strong commitment to personal and professional development.
* Excellent time‑management skills across teaching, research and service.
* Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
* Proven ability for independent and teamwork.
* Effective communication style appropriate to audience and situation.
* Qualification/CPD in teaching in an HEI.
