Job Title: Data Analyst / Power BI DeveloperLocation: Hybrid 2/3 days in Dublin city center location.Contract Duration: 6 Months (with potential to extend)About the role:We are seeking a mid-level Data Analyst / Power BI Developer to support the delivery and ongoing improvement of data products built on our Snowflake centred data platform and Power BI reporting stack. Reporting to the Data Product Manager and working closely with our Head of Data, Data Architect, engineers and business stakeholders, you will help test, validate and interpret data, develop effective reports and dashboards, and support both project deliveries and day- to-day BAU data issues.This role combines hands-on data analysis, strong SQL and Power BI development with business / technical analysis skills. You will be comfortable working through detailed requirements, performing system and user acceptance testing, and helping ensure that data products are accurate, usable and aligned with business needs.Key Responsibilities:Work with the Data Product Manager to understand business requirements and translate them into clear, testable data and reporting specifications.Analyse, profile and validate data directly in Snowflake using SQL, ensuring data quality, consistency and completeness across key datasets.Design and build Power BI reports and dashboards that are intuitive, performant and aligned to agreed data models and definitions.Support the development and enhancement of semantic models, datasets and calculations in Power BI to enable self-service analytics and standardised reporting.Execute system testing and support UAT for data warehouse and reporting changes, including test case design, test execution and defect triage.Investigate and resolve BAU data and reporting issues, working with Snowflake engineers, Power BI developers and IT support where required.Contribute to data quality monitoring by helping define and validate checks, reconciliations and controls across key data products.Document report specifications, data mappings, test evidence and user guides to support effective knowledge transfer and BAU support.Provide day-to-day support to business users on Power BI reports (queries, minor enhancements, issue investigation), helping to drive adoption and a data-driven culture.Collaborate with the Data Architect and engineers to ensure solutions are technically robust, secure and consistent with enterprise data architecture and standardsIdeal Candidate Profile:3–5 years’ experience in a Data Analyst, BI Developer, Technical Business Analyst or similar role, ideally within financial services or another data-rich, regulated environment.Strong SQL skills with proven experience querying and validating data in a cloud data warehouse environment (e.g. Snowflake).Solid hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, including building datasets, reports and dashboards for business users.Experience contributing to or maintaining semantic data models and DAX calculations, with an understanding of how model design impacts performance.Demonstrated experience supporting both project work (requirements, system testing, UAT support) and BAU data / reporting issue resolution.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights in clear, non-technical language.Experience working with a range of stakeholders (business teams, Data Product Manager, Data Architect, engineers, developers) and balancing competing priorities.Good understanding of data governance, data quality and controls, with an appreciation of operating in a regulated environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and a collaborative, delivery-focused approach.Third-level qualification in Business, Finance, Technology, Data or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.Personal Attributes:Curious and proactive, with a strong interest in data, analytics and continuous improvement.Someone with a quality mindset that shows attention to detailPassionate about solving data puzzlesComfortable working in a small, hands-on data team and adapting to evolving priorities and ways of working.Customer-focused mindset, keen to understand business problems and translate them into practical data and reporting solutions.
